How Local SEO Works?
Local search results are found in three different formats. In some cases, rankings may vary depending on what format the user is viewing.
The Local Pack is a feature on the Google search engine results page (SERP) that usually highlights the top 3 businesses from Google Maps. Each business will show the name, reviews, business category, address, hours, phone number, a link to your website and a link to request directions. On mobile devices, it will show a call button. Unlike organic results, if a user clicks on your business name it will open your GMB profile, not your website.
The organic results will usually show underneath the local pack on the SERP. These results include business websites along with directory websites such as Yelp or Angie’s List.
The map results will show to users that use Google Maps. Similar to the Local Pack, if users click on your business name it will open your GMB profile.
